What that means Corporate marketing and comedy writing are not always wholly unconnected disciplines. Both demand clarity and impact. A marketer’s passion for delighting customers is tested to destruction by any comedy club audience. My speciality, topical satire, is comedy’s most voracious genre. Deadlines are ridiculous. Material unused is dead forever. Learning is quick and humility painfully becomes second nature. Experiences like these can only help hone the creative edge - whether it’s comedy or commerce.
